Weight loss is all in the Mind

I just got back from the gym after a two hour workout….using the treadmill, rowing machine, an arm machine (cant remember what it is called) and the stationary bicycle for a total of 875 calories.
I’m going to fix myself a bowl of Quaker Oatmeal.

I was reading an article in the Sydney Morning Herald called Weight loss is all in the Mind. I found it interesting that only 8 percent of people survey believed change of attitude and the way they thought was important to help them lose weight and keep it off. Most thought that just eating healthier and exercising were the key.

I’m wondering with this survey, if all the subjects interviewed were fat or thin…….or was it a mixed group. I think that may have something to do with that 8 percent figure. I’m thinking a fat person would say healthy eating and exercise were the key because they weren’t doing it…or perhaps had tried for a week or two and gone back to their old habits.

I’m trying to find what you did to lose the weight in two months. I am in the same boat. Is there a link?

There is no link. I just know what has worked for me. I have so many books on so many diets…none of which worked for me. Each one seeming to have its own unique restrictions or requirements. Realizing that was the turn off for me, I decided to do it on my own. When you own “it”, it is easier to stick with it. I know it’s calories in versus calories out…causes weight loss/ weight gain.

That’s how I lost 50 lbs. I ate less and moved more. It’s the only thing that works. There is a mind body conection.

I sure agree with you. It’s nice to hear this worked for someone else too. Thanks for sharing.
