Top Five Ways to Feel Full and Eat Less

I was reading an article by Eric Sabo in Healthology. He listed five ways to fell full while eating less. They are:

  1. Super-size filling foods (fruits and vegtables)
  2. Eat your protein
  3. Limit fatty foods, can the soda
  4. Snack “Smart”
  5. Eat until you are hara hachi bu (meaning until you are 80% full)

I know I need to eat more fruit. I buy it every week. It never fails, when I go to clean out the refrigerator, 90% of what I’m throwing out is old fruit. I had to throw out strawberries and blueberries and raspberries this week.

I’m finding it is easier to drink water than it is to eat fruit.

A tip for the fruit and veggie deal, I buy my own groceries because I live alone but sometimes I’m just not home enough to consume them before they go bad. Freeze your fruit and veggies. Especially the fruit. Plus its a nice hot summer snack to nibble and suck on a frozen grape or frozen piece of pineapple. Lasts WAY longer that way.
