Lost Nine Pounds in Eight Days
I can’t believe it but I’ve actually lost nine pounds in eight days. I credit much of that to all the water I am drinking. In fact, water is the only thing I’ve been drinking the past nine days.
I’ve been eating cream of mushroom, cream of celery, cream of chicken, and split pea soup (two pieces of fried chicken took me 45 minutes to eat one piece). I have also eaten ice cream three of these past nine evenings. Last night, I ate a banana for a evening snack.
I thought I would feel hungry and crave sweets. Oddly enough, I have to say I don’t. I forgot to mention one night I had a cupcake (two in a package). It didn’t taste good to me so I threw away the other one.
I feel great and plan on continuing this practice until I meet my weight loss goal. I realize this kind of diet isn’t for everyone but it is what is working for me.
I lost weight one time before by starving myself. I actually only ate every third day. That time the only thing I ate was green vegetables, mostly green beans. I use to get terrible leg cramps doing it that way. I know that wasn’t healthy.
This time I am listening to my body. As long as I feel good, I’m not going to change this weight loss method. I have decided I’ll take a Women’s One A Day Vitamin. I plan on eating other types of fruit in another week.

Hi Chris!
It is good to see that you are eating foods that will not only help you to lose weight, but they will help you feel more energetic. Water is definitely the ‘great equalizer’ as it is the one drink that keeps you hydrated, feeling full and helps wash out your system of impurities. if you keep up doing what you are doing you will soon find (as you are now) that snacking on sweets no longer seems all that appealing!

Hi that makes sense to me what you have just said in your post, soup has been proved in studies to suppress appetite and also the water content fills you up, apples have a similar effect if you eat one half an hour before each meal that will stop hunger pangs three a day works best, good luck with your weight loss.

i found it amazing that i dont need to eat anything sweet anymore, if crave somthing sweet, i just make myself a berry and apple juice smoothie (or somtimes greek yoghurt with a splash of maple syrup). i dont touch icecream, lollies or anything now. its amazing how easy it is to maintain a rhythm of eating healthy once you get into it.

I use to make smoothies and they really were good. That is another thing I can add. Thanks!! You are so right about the sweets.

That’s the only way that I drop the weight is by not eating. Honestly I know it sounds crazy but for some people it is the only way. I look at food and I gain weight. I lost so much weight years ago just eating salads and fruits (with tons of water too) and I felt amazing!
Kudos to you for the will power which at this point in my life I can’t seem to find. I’m in a moment of frustration and lack any will power.
I did a detox that apparently “Pink” the singer did to drop weight and it really did work. If you ever want me to email it to you or post it let me know. It can really get you on the right path.

Me, I’d be willing to try. I’m leaving on Sunday for my son’s wedding in the Philippines. I’ll be back on the computer on October 8th. I look forward to hearing from you.

I too have a weight problem and just found this blog. I can’t say I agree with all that water drinking. First of all it can cause you to have kidney problems, as well as loose necessary electrolytes that the body needs. I do not starve myself, but eat in moderation. If you are drinking all that water it is not natural. If you look at the animal kingdom ( & we are all animals in one form or another) they only drink when they need to. I pay close attention to the natural side of things because I feel that it is necessary to maintain one’s health. As far as popping vitamins they can also be harmful it you take to many. The water for instance. If you are drinking flouridated water it can increase the aluminum in your body which can lead to alzheimers. i stick to the natural course, eat in moderation and I do not deny myself very much and I loose about 1/2 pound per day. By doing this I know that when I reach my goal I won’t gain it all back when I start to eat the foods I enjoy because I have not done without them.I believe the body does not want us to starve ourselves, so when we do, and loose the weight and then go back to eating again, our body says “oh boy” I am going to store all of this stuff so that I will never feel deprived again and lo and behold we gain it all back plus more. This is just my take on things.
