How I Lost 6 Pounds In the Last Month

My sister has gone home but I am still losing weight.  She called two days ago and she is continuing to gain weight.  She has gained two pounds while I have lost 6 pounds.  Both of us are happy.

I have had success and failure in many of my weight loss attempts.  I sat down and thought out what I had done in the past to lose weight.  I also thought about what my past weakness were that caused me to gain weight.

I’ve tried to keep a journal on what I eat, when, and the amount of physical activity I had each.  I also tracked my weight on the same page.  I haven’t been doing it so faithfully but realize when I do keep track of excercise, calories, and weight, I have better success at losing pounds.

This journal has also showed me where I have had set backs on my weight loss journey.  When I see it in black and white, it’s easier for me to make adjustments.  I have found my downfall is sweets.  My journal has showed me, I am not able to resist sugar frosted cookies, cheesecake, fudge, or chocolate desserts.

I use to make the excuse I was buying the cookies and fudge for my mom.  Actually, she didn’t usually didn’t get much because I’d eat the stuff up in two days and go buy more.  My excuses/reasoning can be so illogical sometimes.

I’m still giving individual dessert servings to my mom and husband at suppertime.  I haven’t gotten into what I call “their stuff”.   This system is working for me.

I’m feeling good and so glad I’ve had two months in a row of successful weight loss.  I’m going to continue on this path.  I don’t call it a diet.  It’s just a healthy choice in my lifestyle change.

The lawns down here are still growing fast.  It’s time for me to hit the road and get some grass cut.  I love this form of exercise.  I’ve named my push mower Baby.  I take care of her like she’s one of my kids.   It’s time for us to exit……….stage right!!!!

Great idea with the push mower. And looking at your food choices as a lifestyle decision as opposed to a diet is a good move. I enjoy food so there is always temptation to eat desserts and binge but I try to remember that basically food is for fuel and energy not pleasure, most of the time ;)

It is totally true that when you track something, you become more aware about how you are doing. When you are more aware about how you are doing, you’ll have the will power to accomplish what you need to (in this case, loose weight). It’s a weird principal of human nature.

I lost 35lbs in 3 months. I stopped eating crap filler empty carbs. I get most of my carbs from green veg and just eat clean. Portion control as well. Eat to give your body the fuel it needs not much more and definitely no less.

Also Tofu is insanely cheap and clean source of protein. For breakfast try a protein shake maybe even half a scoop instead of a full and get some of those greens. Take the greens first (Yuck) then down a half protein shake. That and… start doing something anything to burn it. Walk around more at the office, and use some form of transport that you power instead of your car for some things you do in your day. It’s not that hard but it doesn’t just “happen”.

It’s amazing when you balance your protein, carbs and fats you burn it & digest it better. That means more energy and less bloating. I found when I balanced them appropriately I could eat a bigger variety of foods. That makes it easier to plan a meal that you can eat WITH your family!

Keeping a track of what exercise you do and what you are eating does make a difference. Also giving yourself something to aim for. I have lost 10lbs over the last month and my main insentive is seeing friends I have not seen for a while in a few weeks, so I have been on a mission to lose weight and this I have done steadily and slowly.

Mowing the lawn a killer of an exercise! Keep up the good work

Recording what you eat is crucial to discovering those hidden calories. Good work!

Good on ya for losing that weight.

Many wieght loss programs and/or diets fail because the core issues relating to weight gain are not first addressed. For example, if the balance between the homones “Insulin and “STH” (growth hormone) is tipped in favour of Insulin, the body will store fat more readily. If the balance is in favour of STH the body will burn fat. The problem is, that as we age the balance nearly always moves in favour of Insulin. Many “natural health scientists” are proving, in the lab, and by personal experience that these homones can be adjusted to the correct balance by supplementing their diets with buffered ascorbates.
As for me, I’ve personally put ascorbates to the test and found that after 6 weeks I’ve managed to lose 7 kilograms of fat. I’m an active and fit person through martial arts, but was finding that my weight was not dropping untill I started with ascorbate suppliments (in liquid form). By ascorbates I mean:
    Calcium
    Potassium, and
    Magneseium together with vitimans A & D,

There is alot to be said about the use of therapeautic doses of ascorbates, and to this day, the medical profession remains divded on the issue. If your battling with your weight, its well worth investigating ascorbates further.

Congratulations on your progress! It takes willpower and a serious desire to succeed to accomplish what you have. You should be very proud of yourself.

Weight loss sure isn’t easy, but most people know deep down that eating the right fat burning foods and light exercise are the way to do it. Extreme dieting and diet pills just aren’t the answer.

    Great post!

The accountability of writing things down has always helped for me. Even if you’re not publishing it anywhere, just knowing you will have to face what you ate and what you did at the end of the day is enough!

Thanks, the information on loosing weight was great. These tips worked for you very satisfactorily I see. Have you tried any herbal or tasty antioxidants such as Pure Acai Berry? they say it works fine

Cutting grass with mower is such a really good idea to exercise. And your journal will help to track what you had done wrong to gain weight instead of losing it. A journal is a big help as long as you follow it. Nice job.
    Thank you

  14. Tracy Says:

I’ve journaled before and have had so-so results. What really helped was going back and reading it from time to time. That helped me focus on the positive!

Thanks for sharing this and keeping me motivated, too!

Its always an amazing feeling to realize your progress. When you realize that you’ve done a full trip through Walmart, without getting winded. Its a big motivating factor.

  16. Miranda Says:

Keep up the good work! I know keeping a journal is probably tedious but it does help. Thanks for sharing.

  17. Keith Says:

Congrats on 6 lbs in a month. There’s nothing like a bit of personal accountability in the form of a journal to help you realize where things need a tweak.
