The drug Xenical has been on the market since 1999 by prescription only. This pill blocks some fat from being absorbed by the body. It could be the first prescription drug to become available over-the counter.

According to the USA Today, the drug advisory committee will be reviewing GlaxoSmithKline application for this drug in late January.

I’m wondering what makes this drug different from any of the other weight loss prescriptions available that warrants it to be an over-the-counter drug.
