Pure Weight Loss Centers.....Are They All Closing?
In the past few days, I've had a lot of comments left regarding the closings of Pure Weight Loss Centers on a previous article I wrote. It appears many are closing effective January 4, 2008.
With so many people making New Year's Resolutions to lose weight, I would have thought business would have picked up in January.
I went to the Pure Weight Loss Center website. When I tried to talk with someone, I kept getting, "All circuits are busy now. Try your call later." I then decided to try the choice that asking you if you're interesting in joining. Like magic...I got through. I called 1-800-331-4035. They must be able to monitor where the calls come from as this girl immediately told me she had two Pure Weight Loss centers in Memphis and one in Southhaven, TN. Since I live two hours from either of those towns, I asked her about a center in Jackson, TN. The phone number for that Pure Weight Loss Center is 1-731-661-9002. (Today 01/03/08, I checked and the website no longer exists.)
I called the office located in Jackson, TN and asked her if that center was closing down. She told me no!! She stated it was the CORPORATE Pure Weight Loss Centers that were closing. All the FRANCHISE Pure Weight Loss Centers are still going to be in operation.
Maybe if you call the 1-800-331-4035, they can direct you to a Pure Weight Loss Center which is a franchise in your area. Since each of them are independently owned, I'm sure the answers will vary somewhat with each business.

This was a long time in the making since pure is really LA weight loss didn't and realize they'd make more money if they also offered a pay as you go plan and had counselors who actually did the program or were trainers
The center in Jackson is a franchise center...however it is part of a corporation that owns around 100 centers which still go by the name LA Weight Loss. Pure Weight Loss and LA Weight Loss are the basically the same company the only difference is ownership...and just a little FYI the owners of Pure and LA are brothers!

Yellow Lite Plan:
2 proteins, 3 vegetables, 3 fruites, 2 starches, 1 dairy, 1 fat, 2 lites (protein size = 4 oz)
Purple no lite plan:
2 protein, 4 vegetable, 3 fruit, 2 starch, 1 fat, 1 dairy
The proteing size is 6 oz instead of 4 oz for beef and 8 oz instead of 6 oz for chicken. *** There are NO drops from purple no lite plan ****
Red no lite plan:
2 1/2 protein, 4 vegetables, 3 fruit, 3 starch, 1 dairy, 1 fat
Protein serving on red is the same as purple
Red 1 no lite plan: 2 1/2 protein, 4 vegetables, 4 fruits, 4 starch, 2 dairy, 1 fat
Here's how to stablize. Got from another blog. Maybe this will help too.
STABILIZATION:
WEEK 1:
ADD 1 FAT SERVING (choose unsaturated, monosaturated and polyunsaturated most commonly found in vegetable and fish oils such as salmon, olives, nuts
WEEK 2:
ADD 1 FRUIT & 2 VEGETABLE SERVINGS (darker fruits/vegetables are richer in antioxidants; those with skin or seeds are higher in fiber)
WEEK 3:
ADD 1/2 PROTEIN and 1 CONDIMENT (applys to green, gold, purple only)
WEEK 4:
ADD 1 STARCH (choose complex carbs such as oatmeal, whole grain cereal. Complex carbs are higher in fiber which aid in digestion, helps keep you full and may also protect against high cholesterol levels and stabilize elevated blood sugar levels)
WEEK 5:
ADD 1 DAIRY (nonfat and lowfat)
WEEK 6:
Go to the maintenance guide. Add exercise to your regimen. Most will live on the purple plan (with no bars) after they've reached their goal.
FOR ANYONE WHO WOULD LIKE TO LOSE WEIGHT PLEASE DO NOT FOLLOW THE FOOD GUIDE THAT SOME PEOPLE ARE POSTING ON HERE. IT DOES NOT WORK FOR ALL PEOPLE. AS A FORMER ASST. MANAGER FOR PURE WEIGHT LOSS, WHICH WAS LA WEIGHT LOSS, THE PROGRAM WILL NOT WORK UNLESS YOU HAVE THE PROPER EATING GUIDE. IT ALL DEPENDS ON WEIGHT,HEIGHT,WORK SCHEDULES,AND MEDICAL CONDITIONS.
ANYONE WHO IS A CLIENT OF PURE WEIGHT LOSS PLEASE GET AS MUCH MONEY BACK AS YOU CAN BEFORE THEY CLOSE. THIS INCLUDES MONEY FOR WEEKS THAT YOU HAVE NOT YET USED. ITS A GREAT PROGRAM AND I BELIEVE THE OWNER IS IN QUITE A STICKY SPOT.

About the closing of Pure weight loss centers, it’s true that Jenny Craig is providing their program - without any service fee - for the length of time left on all Pure and L.A. Weight Loss contracts. That means you only pay for the food on their program for the time you have remaining on your current contract. You can confirm that by calling 1.800.JENNY20 or a Centre.
Does anyone know if the LA weight loss center in jacksonville, NC is closing? I joined it not 2 weeks ago and now I am reading all this.. Yikes If no one knows I am going to play it on the safe side and get my money back anyways.
Any company that has changed names, owners etc many times is a red flag too me!!
I joined LA Weightloss this past March and am heartbroken and feel almost betrayed by the company now. I lost 35lbs- 11pounds more than my goal weight and I've maintained it for all these months. With ALL the other diet plans I've done- this one was the ONLY one that actually worked for me. Yes, it was an expensive program- but to me it was well worth it.
For anyone who doesn't know this, ALL Pure Weight Loss centers are closing on January 4 - it's on their website!
Wow. This is so not going my way. My counselor gave me her phone number before the center closed. So, today, I went to get it, so I could call her... and, I can't find it.
Does anyone here, have ANY idea how I might find her?? I know it's pretty hopeless but, I wanted to ask anyways. I'm from Buffalo NY, and the center I was a member at, was:

Can anyone help me? I was on the Blue Plan and I feel that I can follow the plan myself. However, I wanted to know if anyone has the maintenance plan for Blue. Also when I run out of my LA lights what do I do I eat in exchange?
Maintenance is the same for all plans, basically you add back a food group every two weeks. Start with an extra fruit, then veg, then protein, dairy and fat. Watch the scale and stop adding if you gain. Everyone is different, so adding an extra fat might not work for you to maintain your weight loss. Good luck!
Side note: as a former employee of LA Weight Loss, I can tell you that you need to hound them at headquarters, in writing, to get your money back. I'll see if I can dig up the address and post it for anyone looking for a refund. Sorry to everyone who put their money and trust in this shady company. I am not surprised at all that they went out of business, given their obsession with sales and very little concern for clients.
I lived in Jefferson City, Mo Just two days ago I was running around town and seen a sign that said Grand Opening it was a Pure Weight loss store. I had never heard of this weight loss program so I got on the internet and found out that the places are filing bankrupt. My concern is does anybody know about this store that has just opened in Jefferson City,Mo
Anonymous; The phone number I found for the Pure Weight Loss in Jefferson Mo is 573 634-4994. If it's the old one that filed bankruptcy, no one will answer. Be sure and do your research so you don't become another victim.
