Friend had gastric bypass surgery

Today, we stopped for lunch before closing on the house. I wanted my husband to see the resturant I use work at part time. I met a girl in there I hadn't seen in a few years. She had lost so much weight. She told me she had gastric bypass surgery. To date, she has lost a total of 112 pounds. She showed me a picture before she had her surgery. That picture was a shock to me, as she had gained much more weight than when I had seen her last.

I'm not sure about this type of surgery. On one hand she said she felt fine, but had been to the doctor today. He told her she was anemic. He explained to her she wasn't drinking enough fluid. I can remember when I was anemic...I felt so tired.

I prefer to just change my life style and eat healthy. I'm determined to reach my goal.

I know you are scared for your friend.
I want you to be healthy.
I believe gastric Bypass is the hardest way to lose weight. The surgery is complicated and dangourious. People mistakenly think it’s the easy way out.
I am not one of those who look down at gastric bypass but I feel it should be only for those who can’t lose any other way. My BMI was high enough but I had success with programs before. Most people who do gastric bypass will never really be thin either but will get smaller.

I'm thinking about the 3 women I know that have had the surgery, and none of them are thin. One of them can't have dairy products without getting sick.

I don't know why it seems most things worthwhile in life, aren't easy.
