Weight loss sabatoged by the Cookie Monster

Yesterday was going really well for me. Lots of water…few calories. I also went shopping with mom, so that meant plenty of walking. When we went to the grocery store, mom picked up these scrumptous home-made frosted sugar cookies….they were suppose to be for my husband.

I did great resisting them until about 9 pm. Rut Roh…the cookie monster overcame me. I attacked those cookies with a vengence. They were so good…just melted in my mouth. After I devoured 5 of them….I looked at the calories…OMG…180 calories a piece!! Yikes…I’ll never lose weight this way. No wonder I ended up with an upset stomach. My system is not use to that much sugar.

I made my husband finish them off. I told mom, we can’t buy that kind anymore. I just haven’t mastered the skills necessary to resist those things. Many foods I have…..just not those sugar cookies. Ho Ho’s and sugar cookies are the two sweet things I just can’t seem to resist. When mom went into the bakery to buy her favorite donuts, I stayed in the car so I wouldn’t be tempted by the ho ho’s.

I’m not drinking my sugar free ice tea….enjoying the beautiful weather we are having today.

I understand. I have to freeze my homemade cookies and cupcakes or I’ll eat them all.
Some cookies like meringues do not freeze well. Also frosting doesn’t freeze well. Frosting can be sugar free jam or coolwhip free mixed with SF FF pudding mix.

I didn’t realize you could freeze them. The next time I do any baking, I’ll remember that. Thanks for sharing that information. That coolwhip frosting recipe sounds GREAT. I’ve just wrote it down and put it in my collection.
