Recognizing Food issues that can prevent weight loss

I was glancing through the Dash Diet book. I always like to do comparisons of various weight loss books. Needless to say, I have more than a book shelf full of these types books. Their website has a 7 day diet plan which is free.

In the Dash Diet Book, it states the first step in this diet is to recognize your food issues. Listing some of them:
1. not eating enough fruits, vegtables, or low-fat dairy products
2. eating too many fats and sugars
3. eating while watching TV
4. late-night eating
5. eating out at fast-food outlets too often
6. eating too much
7. eating too fast
8. eating too many processed foods.

I have to say, I am guilty of all these things. I've decided to print this out and make a check list for myself so each day I can keep track of which of these I do/don't do.

Since we are all unique and have our own strength's and weaknesses...I'm sure people could add to this list. I'm sure I've got a lot more bad habits. But then I know I am strong in the fact, I'm not giving up. I'll just keep plugging along with my weight loss.

I've been doing pretty good so far today. I didn't have time for breakfast as I had too much running to do. I had a nice salad for lunch. I've been drinking water at a steady pace so I should accomplish my 3 quarts today. Every weight loss program I've looked at...they all say....drink LOTS of water to help with weight loss. Must be something to it for all of them to stress it. I just don't know why its so hard to get that through my head.

I just wanted to mention, yesterday was my first day volunteering for the hospital. It was great..I met some nice women. The clients, of course, are young mothers. I worked on a one on one basis with them. I gave them encouragement and praise. I sure reminded me of my days of single motherhood. I go again tomorrow to help with this same program. I just ask God gives me the right words to say. I want to make a positive impact on these young moms.

Well, I'm off to drink some more water....I've got Kiwi-Strawberry Propel Fitness Water. I love this flavor. They also have a great website. They even show various exercises to work different parts of the body (free) It's a site worth reveiwing.

I plodding along with weight loss aswell, and like you have spent more money on books, than pounds off.

I wish I could do better.
I get weighed at my w.w. meeting every wed, today I just stayed the same, phew!

That list is true, but I think you have to take one habbit at a time and really work on each one individually, I going to write it out and when I feel I have overcome each habbit I will tick it off.

Like you I'm not giving up either! I have mastered the water and drink 2 litres each day but I use diluted orange (no added sugar of course) with my meals and keep bottled water in my car, which I drink during the day.

How blessed you must feel helping the young moms at the hospital, keep up the good work!

All the best with your weight loss!
I will look up the website with the diet plan.
Many Thanks

Not to discourage your hydration, but doesn't Vitamin Water have calories? I just add lemon juice to tap . . . it's also great for your skin!

In a 33.8 ounce bottle of Propel water, there are only 40 calories. Adding lemon sounds like a better idea. I'm going to pick a coupe up at the store tonight and mixed the two in a day. Thanks for that idea.

Anonymous: Staying the same isn't bad..that's for sure. I've gained back half of what I lost in March. So I done fooling myself. I think to myself, I wouldn't tolerate this kind of work ethics from my employees...so why shouldn't I expect more of myself. We lead by example...I want to be a good one!!! What is diluted orange? Is that like crystal light?
