Giving advice on Weight loss
Today I went to the beautician and got my hair cut. I had a young girl cutting my hair. She mentioned to me she was trying to lose weight. I’m not sure why she decided to tell me..but I listened. She said she had gotten up early this morning to start running with a friend but didn’t make it over half a block.
I encouraged her and told her to make sure she was drinking plenty of water…explaining that for every 25 pounds over her ideal weight she needed to drink an additional 8 ounces of water to the 64 ounces she should be drinking every day. I explained the importance of documenting. She was happy to get my advice and encouragement.
When I left, I thought to myself……..geesh……..why can’t you follow your own advice. It reminded me of something my dad said to me long ago, “Do as I say, not as I do.”
Today I helped my husband cut grass, got my hair cut, and did my 3 hours of volunteer work. After that, I picked up mom and met my husband at Wendy’s and we had a very late lunch (2:15 pm) I had baked potato and small chili. Mom and I then did a little shopping and didn’t get home until about 4:00 pm.
I’m tired….gonna go take a nap. At least I can’t eat when I’m sleeping.

It’s so hard to take our own advice because it means working at it continually. I had such trouble getting my water in today. If I didn’t drink diet lemon and a diet soda today I would have hardly got anything in today. I will take your advice and drink some water. We also have this odd notion that eating healthy and exercising is selfish. Since when is torturing our bodies with fad diets and mean remarks selfless?

Ha - I find it so hard to take my own advice too. But each day I am making a difference to myself. I am starting to remember to drink all the water I need. I am trying to walk a little further (will help once I get my new shoes) and just try to keep positive.
Hope you have a lovely weekend with your new sparlking hair do
