"Supermarket Diet"
I always look at the contents of items I'm buying. I try and keep low sugar and low fat. I just read an article in which Janice Janis RD, author of "Supermarket Diet" said that cereals vary greatly and the rule of thumb is per 100 calories, you want 5 grams of fiber and 5 grams of sugar or less.
I decided to check out the cereals I have on hand. WOW........Great Grains by Post, it says iti s a great source of whole grain with raisins, dates and pecans...but sugar is 14 g an the fiber is only 4g. Frosted Mini-Wheats by Kelloggs....says lightly sweetened whole grain wheat cereal...12 g of sugar and 6g of fiber. I found a good one.....Kelloggs Special K, it has 2 g of sugar and 5 g of fiber.
The box talked me into buying it. The front of the box says " A low fat part of your Heart Healthy diet" , General Mills, Basic 4 Whole Grain cereal. This one has 14 g of sugar and 3 g of fiber.
This article has been an eye opener for me. I just keep learning and learning. Fortunately, I keep losing weight as well. Definitely a win-win deal.

Hi there Chris, I'm about to start my own blog on weight loss, hope you check it out soon. I eat All Bran, I think it's the best of them all, no sugar and lots of fiber. See you!
Thanks for the information Giselle. I went to your blog but I can't read it. Unfortunately, the only language I know is English. I'm wishing you the best of luck on your weight loss journey.
