Healthy Diet combats High Blood Pressure

My husband and I both have high blood pressure. I've only been on medication about 1 year. Mine wasn't real bad, just high enough along with my age and being over weight, the doctor decided to put me on medication.

My husband has had high blood pressure for over 15 years. I think his has to be mostly hereditary. He doesn't have as much weight to lose as I do and the guy NEVER uses salt. His medicine is a lot stronger and he is taking some twice a day and one of them 3 times a day. The doctor has had hard time trying to regulate his blood pressure. Hopefully, all this new stuff he got last week in Florida will do the trick.

I was reading an article in Reuters, and it states that one of the benefits of healthier eating---weight loss---may also help lower of prevent high blood pressure. The AHA recommends the "Dash Diet".
