Walking off the Pounds with my Omron Pedometer
Today the UPS man left a package. It contained the two pedometers my son bought me for Christmas. He said I needed two in case I lost or broke one. I've never been too graceful.
Its an OMRON Premium Pedometer ...Model HJ-112. This model has dual sensor technology. It counts steps in Multiple postions. It accurately counts steps when it is placed in your pocket, bag, briefcase or clipped at your waist. It is easy to set. You input the time, your weight, your stride...making the calculations very accurate. It is very light weight and comes with a holder a spring clip and a pedometer strap with a clip for the strap as well.
The Omron Pedometer counts total steps, aerobic steps, duration of aerobic walk, calories consumed by walking and distance. It also has a 7-Day memory tracks your daily progress.
Aerobic steps means burning more calories, resulting in faster weight loss. The Omron Pedometer tracks aerobic steps separately, making it esier to attain your goals. Aerobic steps start counting after 10 minutes of continuous walking or running.
It comes with a one year warranty.
Here are a few comments of people that are using the Omron Pedometer:
- Peter Chen of East Bay, CA says: I owned two pedometers before this one. So far this is the most accurate. I agree the belt clip does not hold very well. But with the tiny safety clip, you will not lose it eith on the belt or in the pocket. Three features I like most: being able to carry it other than on my belt, resetting the data at mid-nite, and 7-day memory. Buy it. It will be the best $20 you ever spent.
- Amilee from the Deep South says: The minute you hold this pedometer, you know it is better than most you find in the stores. You can carry it in pockets, etc., and it still works. I have dropped mine so many times, it is ridiculous and it keeps on working. Last week I accidentally ran it through the wash. I took the battery out and let it dry out for a couple of days...and its working

I bet you have already put it to use. Good luck.
I seem to be more interested in the visuals so I vary the locations. Druing the spring, the parks with azealas are great, if there hasn't been to much rain maybe a hiking trail.
Keep us updated on treking.
have fun
I'm looking forward to spring. I love the outdoors. I've got three state parks within a 12 mile radius. Each one has something unique. My pedometer has become a part of me as much as my purse.
I think it's great when people realize the great value of that visual motivation with a pedometer.
Omron Pedometers are top of the line. Omron has released a newer version since the HJ-112. The HJ-720IT that has a USB port so you can connect it to the WalkingSpree.com website, it's taken it up a notch. Omron has also added another sensor for accuracy and a longer LCD memory for displaying data. I know I've certainly had to work hard to meet my 10,000 steps and many days I struggle but I've lost 60 lbs over the last few years and I know that using my WalkingSpree Omron pedometer has definitely helped. You have a great site with lots of good tips but I thought you might want to know about the USB version:)
