I just got home from driving all over town. I can’t believe there wasn’t one church in this town having a midnight service. I drove by them all, catholic, lutheran, presbyterian, baptist and episcapal. I remember as a kid going to midnight mass with my parents and sisters. We’d have hot chocolate when we got home. Then we’d hurry to bed so Santa would come.

My sisters are both married and live in states far from here. My dad has passed away 3 years ago. I just wanted to relive a few of those memories at mass tonight. Perhaps next year there will be a midnight mass.

I am going to fix myself a cup of hot chocolate…….and remember those past Christmas’s.
