Mowed the Yard - Off to the Woods...
We have a yard that is not much larger than those in NYC. We also have a push mower. When I say push mower I mean the fully mechanical Aaron driven no engine type of mower.
In the past I thought people that had those types of mowers were poor or something was wrong with them. At a young age I believed in a bunch of the keeping up with the Jones type garbage and greed ideals.
Nobody around me really taught me the greed. I am guessing some of the intrinsic value I applied to objects might have been driven by a social disconnect due to the age difference between me and my siblings and the fact that my mom had to work really hard to support us so she was not around a bunch when I was little.
While that may seem like some sort of random tangent not related to being healthy it really is super related. Often times we would feel better if we just let go of our posessions and spend a little time in nature.
It feels so much better after you are finished mowing the lawn when you did it using a true push mower.
I think I am going to ride my bicycle to the park. I should get on some sort of nature kick. Perhaps I can go on The Road Not Taken and maybe end up at Walden Pond. While looking at the trees and listening to the birds chirp I might think about Civil Disobedience.
