Linda Spangle has written a book titled, “100 Days of Weight Loss: The Secret to Being Successful on Any Diet.” It has been proven successfully in helping dieters get through the first 100 days, the period when 95 percent of any diet fails.
A few suggestions are:
- When craving a specific food, write it down in a notebook, and tell yourself you’ll have it later. Writing helps tame cravings.
- Follow the clock. The body needs refueling every 3 to 5 hours. Use the clock to take meals and healthy snacks.
- Make a committment to eat in the presence of at least one person, even if it’s a midnight snack.
- Determine if the food is a healthy food such as whole grain, fruits, vegetables, and low fat meats, or filler such as snack foods or convience foods.

Always keep a diet notebook! Studies prove that this helps you succeed with your diet. You now have evidence of what you are doing. You want to be good! This applies pressure to stick to your diet.
